Big sister helps mom in Homebirth in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood.
I felt an amazing connection with Amanda from the moment I met her. She was the Doula of a mama whose birth didn't go as planned, and I was also there her birth photographer.
We sat in the waiting room and talked for a couple hours. We chatted about motherhood and our struggles and how we over come them. We talked about meditation and birth and spirituality. It was one of those conversations where you feel safe and excited to open up and bare your soul.
I was thrilled when she invited me to document her birth journey. It's always an honor to be in the presence of a strong woman when she surrenders and triumphs with the amazing power of birth.
